Deck Towel on the go
There’s no place our towels won’t go–especially for a killer view and some swimming. Our Loïc towel (pictured, not currently in stock) is hanging out by the swimming pool Piscina Antilen atop the mountain in the middle of Santiago, Chile. Enzo, Zander, or Xavier are similar alternatives that are shoppable now.

101 Cookbooks
We’re honored to have the Enzo towel make 101 Cookbook’s Favorite’s List for July. Right next to Horst P. Horst at Twombly’s villa in Rome!
How about a quick hello, and a favorites list today? I love pulling these together and I hope you’ll indulge me a bit. While you’re occupied, I’ll be in the kitchen diving into a couple new titles I picked up at Omnivore Books the other day – two real gems that I’ll likely highlight at some point soon. xo -h

Promise to be back later in the week with a quick something tasty inspired by a fat sack of summer corn I lugged home yesterday. -h
I took the photo up above at a lovely lunch in St.Helena. We sat at an old farm table on a porch surrounded by vineyards (and chickens!) and good company. Hope to share a number of recipes from this lunch with you at some point.

Best Stuff of the Year 2010
Turns out that working with
a bunch of style obsessives and discerning tech-geeks has its perks. We
asked, they delivered: From the coolest set of wheels on the market to a
flat-screen slimmer than an iPhone, it’s everything a man could want.
As for the Hawaiian surfer girl—you’re welcome
It’s a Beach Towel, It’s a Blanket, It’s an Improvised Bed…
Deck Towel Linen Beach Blankets
The problem with beach towels is that even the best of them turn into a
rank, sand-filled mess after a day at the beach. That’s why we dig this
linen version from Deck Towel. Sewn from durable, colorful fabric that
could’ve been swiped from a French girl in Biarritz, they’re light,
quick to dry, and odor-resistant. The other draw? Should a bikinied
stranger need a place to rest her feet, these are plenty big enough for
two.

LAY OUT
Deck Towel
What:
Handmade Italian linens are big enough for a full
spread-eagle sprawl. Pick from faded stripes or saturated solids
evocative of the lazy summer we plan to have.
Why:
It might be Buck (recent Columbia grad who makes them) or the thought of
an evening spent listening to cicadas, but there’s just something
romantic about soft linen and warm months.
Where: Online at decktowel.com.
