Rolling Stone Rock Room Features Deck Towel
Deck Towel paired up with Rolling Stone’s Rock Room event at the Viceroy Hotel during Coachella. We provided Daan and Ico towels to match everyone’s wristbands and cool off members of bands such as Ratatat, Chromeo, and Neon Trees.

Founded in 2010, Deck Towels makes light, compact and sturdy towels
in their studio in New York City, using eco-friendly linens sourced from
all over the world. Deck Towels can be used as beach towel but also as bath towels, bedspreads, picnic blankets, throws, tablecloths, even shower curtains !
New Stockist: General Store
General Store was our very first stockist. Located in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset, the shop caters to brave cold-water surfers and their admirers. General Store is a collaborative entity created by Serena Mitnik-Miller (formerly a head buyer at Mollusk)
and Mason St. Peter which features carefully curated items from both new
and vintage sources. Local artisans and craftspeople contribute to the
mix of furniture, clothing, tools, plants, household items, books,
jewelry, cards and small electronics, a little bit of everything useful.
Designed with function in mind, Deck Towels do double duty as a light weight, highly absorbent quick to emit compact and hygiene friendly linen alternative to the traditional cotton towel.
Product Snob
Thank you to Ashley at Product Snob blog for highlighting Deck Towel’s versatility. Indeed, the Boudewijn makes a great linen beach towel, but it’s also a great bath towel, bedspread, picnic blanket, throw, tablecloth, and shower curtain.
I don’t know about you, but when I go to the beach I need a lot of space for my stuff. My tote bag, my cooler, you know, room for all the stuff a gal takes to the beach. I was thrilled to find this over-sized towel by Deck Towel.
Deck Towel makes linen towels. Their towels are light, compact, and sturdy. They don’t hold in sand or odors like cotton, and are both faster-drying and more absorbent.
Deck Towels are extremely absorbent, even the thinnest linen can hold up to 20 times its weight in water, and dries much more quickly than a terry cloth towel.
Deck Towels can be easily cared for as well: simply machine wash and hang to dry; they get softer with wear. Deck Towels arrive unwashed. Contrary to popular belief, linen does not require special treatment. Simply hand wash, or machine wash with non-chlorine detergent and like colors. Line dry, or tumble dry on lowest heat. Adding a tablespoon or two of hair conditioner to the wash helps keep linen fibers soft and strong. Towels can be ironed, just take care to keep the iron set to low.
When you are not on the beach get creative with your Deck Towel. Use as a bath towel, bedspread, picnic blanket, throw, tablecloth, even a shower curtain.

i first spotted these linen beach towels from deck towel at design*sponge a couple of months ago, but they sold out so quickly, i didn’t have the heart to show them to you. don’t they just feel like summer? those crisp, bright stripes on breezy, cool linen…they’re perfect for the beach, but to be honest, i’d be tempted to use these as a throw around the house instead of a beach towel, or even a topper for my picnic table.
fortunately, i just noticed they’re back for pre-order (looks like styles will be available again on august 15). i’d snap one up fast – they just got a prime spot in the new york times style section on sunday, which means they’re destined to sell out yet again!
