A Deck Towel For Fall Weather? Meet The Theo

Bookmark and Share

Deck Towel debuts its solution for a fading summer – the Theo towel. In a woven Southwestern stripe, he’s just as welcome before crashing waves as he is before a crackling fire. It took us almost two years to produce Theo’s fabric. Many mills said the project was simply too labor-intensive – too many colors, too many stripes. But our patience paid off, handsomely. Woven from fourteen different colored threads, Theo’s so multicolored we’re having trouble with finding names for all his stripes.

About Deck Towel | The Original Linen Beach Towel

Deck Towel makes the original linen beach towel in New York City. Sewn from European linens, they're light, strong, and compact. Unlike bulky cotton towels, our towels repel sand, hold twenty times their weight in water, and dry in a snap. At 70 x 57”, a Deck Towel is sized to accommodate two sunbathers but folds to the size of your beach read. When it gets colder, it becomes your favorite bath towel, bedspread, picnic blanket, tablecloth, or shower curtain. Read more about the benefits of linen towels.

Our first collection was inspired by a 1930s photograph of five Belgian soldiers bathing in the Meuse River, by imagining the sort of materials and patterns they might have used to dry off. Read more about our collections in the press.
